Our contract with FedEx Express makes good business sense. This agreement provides us with shared access to the world's largest air cargo airline, and replaces contracts with a number of former air transportation companies that could not—individually or as a group—match the benefits the Postal Service has gained through this arrangement. FedEx Express provides the Postal Service with unmatched service performance, scope, scale, and information systems capabilities And speaking of a fair business arrangement, the service
impact of our relationship with FedEx has been validated through several
sources. NBC Nightly News recently conducted a Priority Mail on-time performance
test by mailing dozens of Priority Mail and First-Class letters among six
affiliates across the nation. Bottom line, every piece of Priority Mail, which
incidentally flies FedEx Express, was delivered within our two-to-three day
delivery standard.
